The Hamilton star will perform songs from Fearless: B Sides at the downtown venue this fall.
Hamilton and In the Heights star Mandy Gonzalez is set to kick off the new season at the Schimmel Center at Pace University this September with a solo concert of songs from her album Fearless: B Sides. Gonzalez, who is currently starring as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton on Broadway, will perform September 29 at 7:30 PM.
The concert will mark one of several solo performances from Gonzalez since the release of her debut album Fearless and the follow-up, Fearless: B Sides. Earlier this year, she performed at Feinstein’s/54 Below as part of the club’s Bright Stars of Broadway showcase, and last fall, made her debut at the Café Carlyle.
Fearless: B Sides, released earlier this year, features five new tracks, including Gonzalez’s interpretations of classic tunes like “I Only Have Eyes For You” and “Bein’ Green,” as well as her first Spanish-language recording, “Vivir Mi Vida.”
Gonzalez is best known for creating the role of Nina in In the Heights, the first of several collaborations between Gonzalez and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also penned the title track on Fearless. The song is inspired by Gonzalez’s personal story to explore political and familial issues.
