Avant-garde comedian Kate Berlant returns to New York City to bring her absurdist stand-up comedy for one night only. Hailed by The New York Times as a “magnetic improvisational comic” at the forefront of experimental comedy, Berlant will employ her surrealist, stream-of-consciousness monologues that continue to push the boundaries of conventional performance.
Kate Berlant is an LA based writer/performer who has performed across the US in festivals such as the New York Comedy Festival, Festival Supreme, Treasure Island, Sasquatch, and Moontower. In the television space, Kate was featured on an episode of Netflix Presents: The Characters , as well as the critically acclaimed series Search Party (TBS), High Maintenance (HBO), Transparent (Amazon), and Vimeo series, “555,” of which she co-created with frequent collaborator John Early. Her performances have been commissioned by The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and she has been described by The New York Times as a “magnetic improvisational comic” at the forefront of experimental comedy. She has been named by Time Out New York as one of New York City’s “Top Three Comics to Watch” as well as one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch”, and articles about her have been featured in The Fader, Esquire, Playboy, Rookie Magazine, and the Huffington Post.
